Kerry Robert Gray

Kerry Robert Gray, 50, of Red Wing, died with his fiancé by his side, on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home, after a battle with cancer. Kerry was born on August 6, 1966, to Robert and Judy (Horner) Gray in Dearborn, Mich. He graduated from high school in Monticello, IL in 1984. He attended Parkland Community College and started his radio career at the age of 15 in Champagne, IL. His radio career as a DJ and program director spanned over thirty years in several places including Indiana, New York, Colorado, Ontario, and Minnesota. His on-air personality was loved by his many listeners. In 2014 he moved to Red Wing, Minn. and worked at KWNG/KCUE/ Lake Hits. The people-person that he was, Kerry loved to share his vast knowledge of music with others. Throughout his battle with cancer, Kerry had a positive attitude despite the challenges he faced.   He enjoyed watching Canadian hockey and football, the New Orleans Saints, but most of all his passion was music, something that started at a very young age. Kerry loved his family, especially his son and his fiancé.

He is survived by his fiancé, Angell McDonnell; son, Declan Gray; parents, Bob and Judy Gray; one brother, G. Scott (Dawn) Gray; nieces and nephews; and his watchful cat, Lola. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his favorite musical icon, Prince.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. with a time of sharing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
